Nutrition plays a powerful role in maintaining health and ameliorating the disease progress. 

Yet too often, the role of nutrition is overlooked or even dismissed by medical practitioners.
This nutritional certification course is designed to enhance doctors' appreciation of the nutrition's role in health maintenance, disease prevention and supporting body metabolism in fighting disease.

Participants of this program will be able to:

The Society for Advancement of Hormones and Healthy Aging Medicine Malaysia (SAHAMM) in collaboration with the Australian College of Medical Nutrition will be embarking on 2 different programs which will be run over a course of 2 years.
The nutritional certification courses offered are:

1. The Certification and Masters Program in Nutritional Medicine and
2. The Nutritional Certification Advanced Program (Fellowship).

Both the programs will consist of 6 modules. The first program was held in March 2018 and the next two modules will be held in the months of June and September 2018 respectively and Modules 4, 5 & 6 will be held respectively in the months of March, June and September 2019.

Dr. Karel Hromek BMed BSc FACNEM FACRRM FINMA

Dr. Karel Hromek is a Medical Practitioner in Mullumbimby NSW, who has long specialised in Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (NEM) together with mind-body medicine / psychoneuroimmunology. His practice focuses on holistic medicine and embraces nutritional medicine, allergy/sensitivity, chelation therapy, injectable nutrient therapy, and environmental and gastrointestinal assessment.

Dr. Karel graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of NSW in 1973, majoring in microbiology and ecology, and worked for the NSW Department of Agriculture as a research scientist on the far north coast of NSW.

Dr. Karel completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (ACNEM) and also of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). He was granted an honorary fellowship of the Indian Nutritional Medical Association (INMA) for helping to bring NEM to India and is a current member of the INMA faculty.
Dr. Karel is a very popular, engaging lecturer and facilitator, who has taught NEM – especially chelation therapy and injectable nutrient therapies to medical practitioners throughout Australia and New Zealand for over twenty years. He is a past-president of ACNEM and an integral member of their Education Committee.
In recent years, together with his wife Ann-Mary, Dr. Karel has helped set up NEM associations in India, Malaysia, and Thailand, regularly teaching doctors in these countries. He is the author of three medical texts: “Injectable Nutrients”, “Handbook of Chelation Therapy” and “Nutrient Summaries” and has had many articles published in the field of NEM.

Mark Westaway

Mark graduated from the University of Queensland in 1994. With a background in paediatrics, he has completed a Diploma of Child Health in Ireland; worked & studied in the UK including Breakspear Environmental Medicine Hospital; Paracelus Klinik in Switzerland & Paediatric Neurology at Harvard Medical School. A UK registered Osteopath, he completed Diploma of Allergy at University of Southampton, and has lectured with ACNEM, University of Queensland, European School of Osteopathy, and others. In 2016 he co-authored a publication: Parkinson’s Disease: Managing Reversible Neurodegeneration.

Datuk Dr. Selvam Rengasamy

Datuk Dr. Selvam has been practicing medicine for the past 36 years and has been an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist for the past 28 years. He has taken an active interest in treating his patients holistically. His approach using Integrative Medicine with Nutritional and Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy has helped many patients to heal themselves.

He is the President of the Society for Advancement of Hormones and Healthy Aging Medicine Malaysia (SAHAMM) and also Board Certified Anti-Aging Physician from American Academy of Anti-Aging & Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM) and International Hormone Society (IHS). He speaks at international and local conferences and is a regular speaker at A5M, Australia. His ongoing study is on Thyroid Disorders in Pregnancy.


Dr. Baljit Singh Kaulsay, MD

Dr Baljit Kaulsay

Dr. Baljit graduated from UKM in 1990. He is the full-time Doctor and sole proprietor of Klinik Kaulsay at Medan Damansara for the past 18 years.

He is a lifetime member of SAHAMM, and has attended many courses in Hormone and Nutritional therapy. He has a certificate in Nutritional Medicine and is working towards his masters in the same area.


Dr. Marcus Hewitson MBBS B.Sc. FRACGP

Marcus is a General Practioner specializing in Personalised Medicine and individualized treatment protocols. He utilizes a holistic approach incorporating western medical, nutritional/environmental and integrative principles.
He graduated from UNSW in 1998 with a Bachelor of Medicine/Surgery and Bachelor of Medical Science. After two years in the public system, he traveled extensively. On his return, he spent six years working in rural Australia in a variety of locum registrar positions including emergency medicine, general medicine, and cardiology. During a stint with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, he was introduced to rural general practice. He relocated to Byron Bay, attaining Fellowship (RACGP) in 2009.
In 2011 his own illness experience led him deep into the world of Functional Medicine. He now combines comprehensive patient assessment with functional pathology testing to find and address the root cause of disease.
While remaining a committed generalist, Marcus has special interests in wellness/preventative medicine, brain and gut disorders, and complex illness.

Examination Format - Masters In Nutritional Medicine (24th June 2018)

To qualify to sit for this examination, you must have attended 4 modules out of the 6 modules and sat and passed the Certification Examination.
The examination will consists of 2 parts:
- Part A will be based on Multiple Choice Questions
- Part B will be two essay-based questions.
The questions will be based on Modules 4 – 6 and will be given to the candidates during the conference.
You have 1 month to submit your answers via email to sahamm020212sec@gmail.com.

Cancellations and Refund Policy

  1. Cancellations received in writing on or before 8th June 2018 will be refunded less a 30% administrative fee. No refunds will be made after that date.
  2. Participants who register their names and indicates payment is on site, but do not turn up on the day of the event will be required to pay 40% of the course fee.
  3. Substitute participants will not be accepted either.
